The new HF-38 fluorimeter is designed for field testing of toxic heavy metal contaminates in water supplies. It requires no special skills or knowledge of chemistry to operate. Through the use of DNA sensors, a reaction that fluoresces in the presence of a target contaminate substance is measured to determine the concentration of the target-heavy metal and is reported in parts per billion.
