BJM Pumps are suitable for difficult slurry, sand and sludge pumping applications. KZN Series submersible slurry pumps are engineered specifically for the tough applications operators deal with in mining, hydraulic fracking, mineral processing, steel production, drilling mud transfer, slurry transfer, sand and gravel, lime slurry, fly ash, and more. These durable pumps are built to keep production running to save maintenance, repair, labor and downtime costs.

KZN Series pumps feature hard metal components to keep users productive longer. The 28% chrome iron (600 Brinell, 57 Rockwell C) protects the pump from abrasions that would quickly wear down other pumps. The agitator keeps solids from settling at the bottom to prevent clogging. The wear plate is easily replaceable to keep the pump performing like new longer. The impeller features a slurry-type, semi-open design to handle abrasive slurries.

The KZN offers Class H motor insulation with integral amperage and temperature overload protection with double silicon carbide mechanical seals in a separate oil-filled seal chamber. The heavy-duty lip seal protects the seal chamber from solids migration. The hardened ductile iron volute with 300 Brinell hardness offers twice the abrasion resistance of standard ductile iron.

With their top discharge design, KZN pumps are portable and durable, as they are not easily damaged when moved from one project to another and pushed or pulled into place. These pumps are cooled by the pumped liquid and can remove liquids to within inches of the bottom, while side-discharge pumps leave up to 3 ft of liquid because it must remain submerged to avoid overheating. With its slim design, even the largest KZN model (22.75 in. diameter) can fit in tighter spaces than side-discharge pumps.
