SRPE Pipe Can Be Used for a Variety of Applications

Products are suitable for new & rehab projects

Dec. 4, 2018

DuroMaxx steel-reinforced polyethylene (SRPE) pipe combines the strength of steel with the durability of plastic. It achieves a smooth polyethylene waterway wall for optimal flow rates ranging from a Manning’s “n” of 0.013 or better while meeting or exceeding ASTM D3212 joint-tightness requirements. With diameters ranging from 30 to 120 in., standards lengths of 14 to 24 ft, corrosive resistance and a compact wall profile, this SRPE is a suitable solution for a variety of wastewater and storm water applications.

For rehabilitation of closed-system storm and sanitary sewers or culverts with limited access, engineers should consider utilizing SPR polyethylene, which can structurally rehabilitate brick, concrete or corrugated pipes from 30 to 118 in. with the equipment fitting through a 22-in. manhole opening. Installation of this product can occur with up to 25% of the flow present, requires no bypass pumping, and greatly reduces installation time and cost.
