Pumping System
Xylem has developed a technology that advances the wastewater sector with a smart, sustainable solution: the world’s first wastewater pumping system with integrated intelligence. This new smart, interconnected wastewater pumping system from Xylem’s Flygt brand senses the operating conditions of its environment, adapts its performance in real time, and provides feedback to pumping station operators.
The Flygt Concertor pump represents a step-change in sustainable wastewater management solutions with improved pumping efficiency and reliability, as well as a lower overall cost of ownership, including:
- Energy savings of up to 70% compared to a conventional pumping system;
- Reduced inventory by up to 80% due to flexible performance;
- Clog-free pumping operation and clean wet wells saving up to 80% in vacuum cleaning costs; and
- Compact design, reducing cabinet size by up to 50%.
This pump’s flexible performance represents a change in how pumping systems will be selected and managed to accommodate different flow rates. In contrast to fixed performance curves of conventional pumps, it offers a wide performance field from which to choose the right operating point. This makes selection simple, facilitates performance fine-tuning, and reduces inventory.

Transit-Time Ultrasonic Flowmeter
Blue-White Industries’ MS-6 ultrasonic flowmeter uses transit-time ultrasonic technology to offer a broad flow range. This technology provides an immediate solution to a problem the industry has struggled with for years.
Industry professionals not only require an instrument that monitors flow rate, but it also needs to be accurate and the MS-6 satisfies both of these requirements. The product has measurable flow rates down to 10 milliliters per minute and up to 10,000 milliliters per minute. The flowmeter is an alternative to electromagnetic flowmeters for
monitoring flow.
Features of the MS-6 include a 4-20 mA output, frequency output and high and low flow setpoints that can be utilized for no flow alarms. In addition, the flowmeter has numerous system warning functions, such as air bubble or empty pipe problems. The product communicates these problems instantaneously with the SCADA control system, which helps ensure minimal down time and loss of production.
While Blue-White Industries offers a broad range of dosing pumps, the MS-6 works with both Blue-White’s pumps as well as those of other manufacturers. The product has PVDF and PEEK wetted components, NSF Standard 61 approval and features to accurately monitor chemical dosing, making it an ideal chemical metering pump for drinking water applications.

Monitor & Controller
The 900 Series monitor and controller combines flexibility, accuracy and reliability. It measures 3.5 inches and is resistive and intuitive. Its measurement capabilities include conductivity, resistivity, salinity, TDS, pH, ORP, temperature, mV, flow and percent of rejection. It includes a 4-20 mA input and a variety of outputs, including a 0- to 10-VDC recorder output, relay
outputs, alarm outputs and optional outputs for 4-20 mA and RS-485.
The instrument’s display can show one to four measurements simultaneously or constantly cycle though a series of single measurements. The 900 offers a variety of alarm options, and its security settings allow password protection for different levels of access.
It is suitable for many water-related applications, including agriculture, municipal water treatment, reverse osmosis, pharmaceuticals manufacturing, food and beverage production, desalinization, wastewater management, pool and spa treatment, and paper and
pulp manufacturing.

Remote Monitoring System
MetriNet is a unified system for monitoring water quality at remote sites and transmitting the data for web-based storage or directly to a customer site. Flexibility is key to the system. Derived from network metrics, the system enables users to assemble monitoring units that fit individual site requirements. The data is stored in a standard CSV file format for easy manipulation with Microsoft Excel or similar programs.
Individual smart sensors called M-Nodes take the measurements. These devices are a complete sensor and monitor in one miniaturized package. The sensors are available for a variety of water quality parameters, such as free chlorine, total chlorine, turbidity, pH, conductivity and oxidation reduction potential.
Each sensor is inserted in its own flow chamber, and individual chambers clip together to form a flow system of the size required. Simple quick-release collars provide easy assembly and disassembly.
A device that controls the flow of water through the flow assembly at a constant
0.2 liters per minute is integrated into the flow assembly. The flow system normally is operated with an inlet pressure of approximately 50 psi (3.3 bar), but it is rated to 100 psi (6.6 bar). The fixed flow regulator will keep flow constant regardless of inlet pressure.
Since not all remote sites have the same power availability, the MetriNet system allows users to operate in either full-power or low-power modes. The system is economical to purchase, is flexible for individual use and provides long-term accuracy and reliability for all monitoring.
