Induron Coatings Protect Two Idabel, Oklahoma Storage Tanks

July 7, 2020

Induron Protective Coatings recently had the privilege of working with both Wall Engineering and the city of Idabel, OK. For this project, the city needed to replace two existing potable water tanks with two new 500,000-gallon composite elevated tanks. Landmark Structures out of Fort Worth, Texas was awarded this project.

The Challenge

While the job presented a few challenges, the main challenge was that the tanks were built on two different sites that are miles apart from each other. Because the tanks were built at the same time, the project required constant back and forth from the different sites. Fortunately, Landmark rose to the challenge with flawless organization and execution.

The Coatings Solution

Brandon Wall of Wall Engineering selected the coatings system for the two tanks, which specified that the new fluoropolymer technology be used in the final exterior coat.

Induron’s Perma-Gloss Fluorourethane, which is a two-component, high gloss, fluoropolymer resin-based urethane coating, was submitted and approved as the final exterior coat. The technology behind Perma-Gloss is superior compared to traditional urethanes. This simply means that it will perform longer and hold up better under UV exposure.

Perma-Gloss is well-known for providing state-of-the-art color and gloss retention. In fact, it provides the best color and gloss retention of any readily-available industrial coating. This fluorourethane finish coat provides the benefit of extremely long-term maintenance cycles.

It is an economically-viable coating offering easy graffiti removal as well as excellent protection and durability. Perma-Gloss is also available in virtually any color and is easy to apply by brush, roll, or spray. As you can see from the photos of the finished tank, the city opted to use beige, charcoal, and red to not only protect, but also beautify the tanks.

At the conclusion of the project, the city of Idabel, OK received two freshly painted and protected tanks that will carry them into the future.

“We were extremely pleased with the Induron products used on the two 500,000 Idabel storage tanks,” Brandon Wall commented. “Induron was able to exceed our expectations in everything from front-end engineering support to end-user product delivery. We would definitely recommend Induron and their products to other users in the market for high quality paint and coatings solutions.”

When contractors, engineers, and coatings suppliers work together like this, you can expect seamless execution, a happy customer, and a final product to be proud of.

Induron, coat it and forget it.
