The Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society (ISA) announces the 2005 president of the Society, Donald W. Zee. Zee will lead the ISA Executive Board in overseeing ISA’s 60th year of operation.

"I welcome this opportunity to use my industry knowledge and leadership skills to benefit ISA," Zee said. "The Society is positioned for continued growth as the global resource for automation information."

Zee is president of Don Zee Associates, a management consulting firm dedicated to executive search, placement, and marketing assignments in the industrial measurement instrumentation, process automation systems, and final element control valve markets. He founded the firm in 1975 after a decade of user and sales management employment with DuPont and Foxboro. While at DuPont, Zee co-authored two patents.

A member of ISA’s Orange County Section since 1977, Zee has served the Section in numerous offices, including president, treasurer, Society delegate, and program and membership chair. In fact, Zee’s support has been so exemplary that the Section instituted the Don Zee Award for outstanding industry achievement in 1990, presenting the initial award to its namesake.

At the District level, Zee was District 11 vice president and chairman of the Council of District Vice Presidents. In addition to participating on various Society committees, he served as treasurer of the Society for four years. In 1998 he was honored with the Distinguished Society Service Award.

A graduate of Widener University in Chester, Pa., Zee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
