A water main break in Cambridge, Mass., is slowing the morning commute.
Workers spent most of the night Thursday cleaning up after a break in the 30-inch pipe at Broadway and Third Street sent water spilling into the Kendall Square area during rush hour.
The break forced the shutdown of streets and the evacuation of a hotel.
Police say about 300 people were evacuated from the Marriott Hotel and relocated to other hotels in the area. Water flooded the hotel's lower garage, forcing the fire department to shut off utilities.
At least one other office building in the area was closed.
Police say Red Line subway service was not interrupted.
