Victaulic Acquires Tennessee Manufacturing Company

Oct. 24, 2022
Tennessee Metal Fabricating Corporation provides Victaulic growth opportunities during surge in infrastructure spending.

Victaulic, a manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining and flow control solutions acquired Tennessee Metal Fabricating Corporation (TMF) in early September.

TMF has specialized experience — decades worth, according to the release — in construction fabrication for water, wastewater and infrastructure projects throughout North America.

“The acquisition of TMF is a natural fit with Victaulic’s business strategy. This strategic step demonstrates our ambition to further expand our growth and service capabilities to our valued North American construction customers,” said Rick Bucher, president and chief executive officer of Victaulic, in a press release. “Victaulic is delighted to welcome the TMF employees to our Victaulic family, and we are excited to have these talented individuals as part of our skilled workforce.”

Steven Gabriel, Infrastructure & Power Divisional Manager for Victauilc, shared in Bucher’s sentiment.

“We are excited to have the talented individuals from TMF join the Victaulic family in support of our ever-evolving large-diameter solutions, across a wide array of materials,” Gabriel said.

The growth potential for the company, he added, was one of the major considerations for the acquisition of TMF, which will increase production and capacity for Victaulic.

“Infrastructure and large-diameter piping solutions are key components of our business,” Gabriel said via email. “We have made an investment that demonstrates our commitment to growth and allows us the opportunity to enhance our capabilities and increase production capacity to support this space.”

Gabriel said the acquisition of TMF is only for assets related to manufacturing, and that the acquisition meets a strategic goal of proximity.

“A major aspect of our business strategy has always been to manufacture products in close proximity to our customers,” Gabriel said. “This location supports that strategy by enhancing our ability to serve current and future customers in North America.”
The addition of the TMF business includes three buildings totaling 125,000 square feet and over 36 acres of land. Near term and long term goals for the facility were not provided for comment by Gabriel or Bucher at this time.
