Abrasion in pneumatic conveying normally occurs in the pipe bends and subsequent straight sections where the material is subject to a high degree of turbulence. Abrasion resistant piping components with internal linings, such as Abresist fused cast basalt from Abresist Kalenborn Corp., reduce the severe abrasion of the bends in pneumatic systems and increase service life.
