It automatically collects meter readings and provides the information needed to perform leak detection, conserve resources, reduce theft and improve customer service and billing. The network operates on a licensed, long-range radio channel to provide consistent and reliable data. Communications options used by the system are: cellular and radio signals, landlines, fiberoptics, Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
