Duperon Corp. employee inducted; Itron to deploy solution for Liberty Utilities

Duperon Corp. Sales Manager Inducted Into Industry Society

Lorene Bruns, Duperon national sales manager, has been inducted into the Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers (5-S) at the Michigan Water Environment Assn’s annual meeting. According to a Duperon press release, selection to membership of the 5-S is recognition of "outstanding, meritorious service above and beyond the call of duty” in relation to the water environment industry.

Michigan Water Environment Assn. (MWEA) is one of Michigan's oldest organizations, representing more than 2,000 water quality professionals statewide who are dedicated to preserving, restoring and enhancing Michigan's water resources. MWEA is a member association of the Water Environment Federation.

Itron to Deploy OpenWay Riva Solution for Liberty Utilities

Itron Inc. announced it has signed a contract with Liberty Utilities Co., a subsidiary of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., which operates nearly 40 utilities in 13 U.S. states. According to an Itron press release, Liberty Utilities will deploy Itron’s OpenWay Riva, an Internet of Things solution that includes an open, standards-based network for gas, electricity and water. The solution will help Liberty Utilities improve operations and enhance the customer experience. Itron also will provide managed services and cloud-hosting services to ensure smooth implementation and operation of the network.

Liberty Utilities will deploy Itron’s IoT enabled multi-purpose network to upgrade aging infrastructure with advanced metering and distributed intelligence capabilities across its electric, water and gas installed base. With Itron’s network and high-performance endpoints, the utilities will be equipped to optimize grid performance, increase reliability and improve customer service. 

World Economic Forum Recognizes Microvi 

Microvi was selected as one of the World Economic Forum's "Technology Pioneers." Microvi was founded in 2008 by Dr. Fatemeh Shirazi, CEO and CTO.

According to a Microvi press release, the World Economic Forum's Technology Pioneers are early-to-growth-stage companies from around the world that are involved in the design, development and deployment of new technologies and innovations, and are poised to have a significant impact on business and society. 

Streamline Announces Partnership

Streamline Innovations Inc. announced a new strategic partnership with Pearl Energy Investments (Pearl) and Energy Innovation Capital (EIC). According to a Streamline press release, this partnership with Pearl and EIC helped fund the acquisition of proprietary chemical supplier Advanced Oxidation Technology, and is expected to fuel the continued expansion of Streamline's flagship technology, the Valkyrie. Streamline's Valkyrie technology removes H2S from natural gas, produced water, and wastewater.
 

Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures Invests in Typhon Treatment Systems Ltd.

Typhon Treatment Systems announced it has closed a financing round led by Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures. According to a Typhon Treatment Systems press release, it offers a new generation of industrial and municipal water disinfection products, which use energy-efficient LED based UV light emitters. Typhon’s proprietary reactor design enables treatment of large volumes of water while having low electricity consumption, no use of chemicals, and significantly simplified operations.
