Filter Line Provides Flow Rate, Sizing Benefits

Oct. 18, 2007

Schroeder Industries, specializing in filtration and fluid conditioning products, showcased its SC automatic self-cleaning filter at booth No. 1648.

The SC line is used to remove solid contamination from process fluids and protect the integrity of high-grade components that depend on low-viscosity, water or water-based lubricants. The filter is ideal for applications where fluid flow cannot be interrupted and must be maintained at an acceptable cleanliness level.

The SC filter can achieve flow rates up to 33,000 gallons per minute (gpm), with ANSI flange sizes ranging from 2 to 36 in. Slotted tube filter elements ranging from 50 to 3,000 microns and super mesh filter elements with 25 to 40 microns remove contamination particles. The single-element cleaning process ensures the total filtered flow is not reduced during the cleaning process.

The SC line requires little follow-up when sized properly. Filters are available in a range of sizes, from the smallest SC02 to a high-capacity SC36. The SC02 filter can handle up to 120 gpm of water or low-viscosity fluids. The SC04-SC08 can filter up to 1,980 gpm, and the SC10-SC36 can take on 33,000 gpm, which can equate to more than 47 million gallons per day.
