The water industry is abuzz with excitement about the 90th annual Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition & Conference (WEFTEC). With such a milestone anniversary, the world’s largest annual water quality event will undoubtedly provide extensive educational opportunities and demonstrations of the field’s most cutting-edge technologies and services.
This year, WEFTEC takes place Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 in my home city of Chicago. However, I will not be in attendance.
With a heavy heart and plenty of gratitude to all the readers, partners and associations I’ve connected with over the years, I announce that I am leaving this fine publication. I am transitioning to a communications and public relations role for an association in the dental industry. So as I become immersed in the dynamic world of saving teeth, I know I’ll be smiling each time I reflect on my years serving the impassioned water industry—truly some of the most hardworking folks out there.
My decision to leave was based on a thirst for new challenges. I’ve enjoyed these past almost eight years with you all, but the time has come for a change. However, even though I am diving into a new industry, I will never stop championing the cause for robust, common-sense solutions to our most challenging water and infrastructure woes and singing this industry’s praises to young people in the hopes that they will join the wonderful world of water.
So with that I thank you for all the memories! With a talented team left to oversee this publication, I am certain it is in good hands. If you’d like to keep up with my new adventures, feel free to follow me on Twitter @lizlistweets.
Farewell, until we meet again.
