WEFTEC in the Windy City

The Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) returns to McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois Sept. 30 to Oct 3.

This year, WEFTEC boasts 150 educational and interactive sessions in addition to 17 hands-on workshops for water professionals of all experience levels. From learning about practical skills to attending sessions on topics that interest you and align with your utility’s roadmap and vision, the educational track aims to help you do your job better.

In the exhibit hall, there will be more than 800 exhibitors, many of whom will be launching brand new products or innovations at the show. An innovation lounge will host booths for start-up companies looking to share their latest products with utility executives, engineers and consultants.

The festivities start Sept. 30 with three workshops and WEF delegate meetings, followed by more workshops and meetings on Oct. 1. The Opening General Session is Oct. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The exhibit hall is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 and Oct. 3, and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Non-fouling wastewater level transmitter

The Keller LevelRat is an affordable level transmitter with short lead times. The LevelRat offers 0.5% FS TEB accuracy in custom ranges from 0-5 to 0-100 feet of water, custom cable lengths, and provides dual outputs, one analog and one RS485 digital. Models equipped with a 4-20mA analog output include Keller’s guaranteed lightning protection. The LevelRat also provides RS485 digital communications. This feature makes direct connection to MODBUS SCADA, PLC, and RTU units possible, allows up to 128 transmitters to be connected on a single bus, and facilitates connection to a PC running Keller's CCS30 software, which gives users the ability to actively view real-time pressure/temperature changes, run software-assisted level logging, and make adjustments to the analog output to meet changing requirements.

Chemical dosing pumps

The advanced performance features of Blue-White’s FLEXFLO M3 Peristaltic Chemical Dosing Pumps includes a bright, easy to access and highly responsive 5-inch display screen. The screen is as simple to operate as a cell phone, even while wearing work gloves. The icons are quickly recognizable and the text is easy to read. In addition to legacy communications such as 4-20mA, the M3 offers advanced communication protocols, including Profibus, Modbus TCP and Ethernet IP. The M3 includes firmware that can be field updated. Additionally, M3 may be ordered with Blue-White’s exclusive Flex-A-Prene multichannel tube technology. Flex-A-Prene experiences extended tube life and provides excellent chemical resistance. These qualities result in reduced maintenance time and expense. The M3 will not vapor lock or lose prime even when dosing off-gassing chemical like PAA or Sodium Hypochlorite; the continuous flow and smooth pumping action of FLEXFLO M3 will not damage long chain polymers.
