EPA will take public comment until Oct. 31 on three recent reports on arsenic in drinking water: the health effects/science report prepared by a panel convened by the National Academy of Sciences, the costs report of the National Drinking Water Advisory Council and the benefits report of EPA's Science Advisory Board.
The reports were requested last spring by EPA Administrator Christie Whitman and completed in August.
In a Federal Register notice published Oct. 5, EPA announced the availability of and information on viewing the three reports as well as a request for public comment. The notice is posted on EPA's drinking water web site at www.epa.gov/safewater, scroll down to "arsenic."Source: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
