The rapidly developing Asia Pacific bottled water industry is to hold its two yearly convention and trade fair in Shanghai from 19th to 21st May.

"China is Asia's largest and fastest growing bottled water market and Shanghai is the country's most dynamic city," commented Asia Bottled Water Association Secretary General Ita Thaher. "China's influence will increase across the entire region and it is important for industry managers to see and learn from what is happening there for themselves." More than 350 delegates, including many from the Middle East and Australasia, attended the 2001 event in Bali and the Asia Pacific market has grown by more than 30 percent in the past two years.

"Caring for Quality and Health" has been chosen as the theme, because of both the industry's concern to ensure the highest possible standards and the benefits of good quality water to public health.

The program has five main features:

- Trade Fair with displays of latest equipment and technology

- Conference and workshops including market developments and quality issues

- Social programme with welcome reception and 1920s Shanghai gala dinner

- Certified plant operator course and exam

- Shanghai city tour.

Most activities will be based at two main hotels, the Portman Ritz-Carlton and the JC Mandarin, and the event is being organised on behalf of the Asia Bottled Water Association by Zenith International. For further details go to www.zenithinternational.com or e-mail [email protected].
