Stantec Donates Computers to Regional Water Association

Dec. 5, 2006

Stantec, the Westford, Mass., office of engineering consulting firm, recently donated 10 laptop computers to the regional not-for-profit organization New England Water Works Association (NEWWA).

NEWWA will use the Dell Inspirion 4000 notebook laptops for its various training courses and web seminars on business issues, industry-specific software, hydraulic modeling and other water-related subjects. The 10 computers will allow the association to hold these training sessions throughout New England, using consistent programs and technical capabilities at each session.

The association has been planning to launch a mobile computer lab for several years but so far has not obtained the funding. Mark Wetzel, Stantec employee and chairman of the association’s Information Technology Committee, said the donation will help get that project off the ground and “make it much easier to meet the training needs of the members.”
