The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognized the city of Fresno, Calif. for its achievements in wastewater treatment and pollution prevention.
The city has received the EPA’s first place award in the large pretreatment award category for municipalities with over 21 significant industrial users.
Alexis Strauss, director of the EPA’s Water Division for the Pacific Southwest Region told The Central Valley Business Times that the EPA is acknowledging the city’s investment in protecting its infrastructure, and water quality, through its award-winning pretreatment program
The EPA’s pretreatment awards recognize municipalities that effectively implement a complex regulatory program that ensures industrial wastewater is being treated before entering the nation’s waters.
