Tennessee City Partners with Severn Trent Services for Water Services
Fort Washington, Pa. – Severn Trent Services announced it has entered into a public-private partnership with the City of La Vergne, Tenn. to provide contract operation and management of the City’s Water Utility System for a term of three years.
A special meeting of the La Vergne board of mayor and aldermen was conducted on Friday, January 19 to discuss the partnership with Severn Trent Services for the operation of the La Vergne Water Treatment Plant. The public meeting was held at La Vergne City Hall.
Severn Trent will be responsible for operations and management of the City’s 9.8 million gallons-per-day (MGD) water treatment plant; managing capital expenses; minimizing or eliminating water quality excursions; providing technical assistance to address the City’s existing assets, future capacity and regulatory issues; and removing the City’s day-to-day burden of operating the facility. The facility currently treats 4.0 to 5.0 MGD, serving La Vergne’s 27,000 residents.
