Severn Trent Services has been awarded the R.B. “Bob” Batchelor Memorial Safety Program Award by the Texas Water Utilities Association (TWUA). Nominees for the Safety Program Award must be able to demonstrate a reduction in the number of lost time accident or injury cases from the previous year in order to be considered.

The TWUA is solely devoted to the education and training of those involved in the water utilities profession in Texas. The organization’s R. B. “Bob” Batchelor Memorial Safety Program Award is offered to recognize a water utility, or a particular department, division, or portion of a water utility that has an exceptional safety program, or which demonstrates significant improvement in its safety program for its employees over prior years. The recipient may be a municipality, special district, water supply corporation, privately owned utility or any other privately or publicly owned entity that provides water or wastewater service to the citizens of Texas.

Severn Trent Services currently serves more than 180 water and wastewater projects throughout Texas.

“The R.B. Batchelor Memorial Safety Program Award validates the effort put forth by Severn Trent Services to instill a culture of safety throughout our company. This award signifies the dedicated approach to safety our employees are undertaking at every project,” said Dana Kaas, vice president of contract operations at Severn Trent.

The Safety Program Award will be presented to Severn Trent Services on March 14, 2007 at the TWUA’s Annual Awards Banquet in San Antonio, Texas.
