Jay Ingram, co-host and producer of television's first daily science show, Discovery Channel's Daily Planet, will be among the featured speakers at the American Water Works Association's Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE07) June 24-28 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Ingram will replace CBC Radio host Bob McDonald as speaker at the plenary session Tuesday, June 26. Ingram is McDonald's predecessor as host of the award-winning science radio show "Quirks And Quarks."
Ingram, who speaks from 8-8:45 a.m. at Tuesday's plenary session, is one of Canada's most prominent science communicators. His broadcast career spans three decades and includes award-winning radio documentary series, The Talk Show, as well as regular appearances on CBC Newsworld's Canada Live. He is an accomplished writer with three Canadian Science Writer's Awards and has earned several national honors for promoting and popularizing science.
The 125th Annual Conference and Exposition features a professional program with more than 100 sessions and in-depth workshops. Over 500 exhibitors will showcase the latest products and services available to help ensure safe water.
Participants include experts in water engineering and construction, water resources management, conservation and reuse, distribution, legislative and regulatory affairs, public communication and emerging issues.
