July 26, 2007

SembCorp Utilities, a subsidiary of SembCorp Industries, will invest S$42 million to upgrade its industrial wastewater treatment facilities in Nanjing and Zhangjiagang in China.

According to Channel News Asia, the expansion will enable the facilities to double their capacity to treat industrial wastewater so as to meet rising demand.

The Nanjing facility has been in operation for two years and is located and treats high-salinity wastewater.

The Zhangjiagang facility in the Jiangsu province treats high-concentration wastewater.

SembCorp plans to have the upgrade completed by 2008.
