Dec. 28, 2000
Haestad Methods Inc. has named Thomas Walski, Ph.D., P.E., vice president of Engineering and Model Development. A widely published and well recognized water resources modeling expert, Dr. Walski will direct and oversee product development and education at the company, which provides hydrologic and hydraulic software for civil engineers.

"I've used Haestad Methods products, WaterCAD® and SewerCAD®, to design and analyze water and wastewater systems for Pennsylvania American Water Company. The enthusiasm of the Haestad Methods staff, and their desire to advance the technology convinced me this is where I need to be," said Dr. Walski.

"I've known Tom and worked with him for the past decade, and he is one of the best there is in this industry. His strong practical knowledge of numeric and optimization methods will greatly enhance Haestad Methods' current research and development efforts," noted John Haestad, president and CEO.

Dr. Walski comes to Haestad Methods from Pennsylvania American Water Company (PAWC), where he supervised engineering work for the regional water supply system. He has written three authoritative books and over 40 peer review journal papers on the subject of water distribution modeling.

Haestad Methods produces software for culvert design, water distribution, storm water and sanitary sewer modeling, water surface profiling, and inlet design.
