AWWA Webcast to Discuss Endocrine Disruptors, Pharmeceuticals & Personal Care Products

The scientific work and research being done on Endocrine Disruptors and Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products will be addressed during a May 7, 1 p.m. Eastern time webcast hosted by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
The webcast, "Endocrine Disruptors, Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products: Actions and Communication," will cover the science behind the issue, sources of exposure and toxicity levels of the compounds and the newest detection, testing and treatment processes. Participants also will learn to develop strong communications plans in order to communicate effectively within and without a utility.
Moderator Greg Kail, AWWA's director of public affairs, will be joined by professionals in the water industry who will present the scientific information and discuss communications strategies currently in use.
The webcast presenters include:

• Roger Buehrer, APR, public information officer, Southern Nevada Water Authority;
• R.C. Pleus, Ph.D., director and toxicologist at Intertox; and
