AquaSensors will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s Water Analysis Instruments business
AquaSensors, LLC, a start-up company founded in 2003 by former Great Lakes Instruments employees involved in the design and manufacture of innovative measurement systems for water quality and process control applications, has been acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific. Effective immediately, AquaSensors will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s Water Analysis Instruments business (WAI) of the Environmental Instruments Division.
AquaSensors will complement Thermo Fisher’s existing capabilities in water markets for laboratory electrodes and online analyzers. They offer a full range of smart and analog process electrodes and hardware for pH/ORP, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, ozone, free chlorine, turbidity and suspended solids. This also provides Thermo Fisher with a major opportunity to compete in process sensor markets.
AquaSensors’ unique direct-to-SCADA product design reduces equipment and installation costs while improving reliability in a wide variety of municipal and industrial water treatment applications. Their patented DataStick measurement system features pre-calibrated plug-in sensor heads that provide 24-bit data and can be calibrated, configured or diagnosed directly from a PLC or computer system. No intermediate analyzer boxes are necessary.
