Black & Veatch Wins Community Environmental Project in Vietnam

Black & Veatch has signed an agreement with the government of Vietnam whereby the company will provide consulting services in connection with a major effort to upgrade the water, wastewater and solid waste infrastructure serving eight municipalities located in Vietnam’s central region.

According to Black & Veatch, the region is an impoverished area with small- and medium-sized towns suffering from water pollution and regular flooding and requiring extensive new water and waste infrastructure as Vietnam undergoes rapid urbanization.

The project is Black & Veatch’s second major urban infrastructure improvement project in the central region of Vietnam and its third urban infrastructure project in the country, according to Ralph Eberts, senior managing director of Black & Veatch’s Asia Pacific water business.

Black & Veatch is also undertaking a fourth major project in Vietnam, the Phouc Hoa Water Resources Project near Ho Chi Minh City. “We’re very proud of the difference we are making to communities across Vietnam,” Eberts said. “It is also a great way to start 2009, which marks the 20th anniversary of Black & Veatch working in the country.”
