Water Research Foundation Board Sets Subscriber Rates

The board of trustees for the Water Research Foundation, the nation’s leading drinking water research organization, met on Saturday, June 13, and voted to hold current subscription rates for the year of 2010.

“We value the support of our more than 900 subscriber members,” said Robert C. Renner, the Foundation’s executive director. “During these tough economic times, it is the responsibility of the Foundation to be good stewards of subscribers’ dollars. In 2008 subscriber dollars were leveraged 1.5 to 1 to provide a greater return on our subscribers’ investment.”

In an unrelated matter, four new trustees have been appointed to the board. They are: Joseph Mantua, AWWA president elect and project manager at Black & Veatch; John Dyksen, director of capital projects at United Water Management & Services, Inc.; Gregory Heitzman, president and CEO of the Louisville Water Company; and Nilaksh Kothari, general manager of Manitowoc Public Utilities.

In addition, on Saturday the board voted to fund eight new unsolicited research projects.

The board meeting was held in San Diego one day prior to the American Water Works Association annual conference and exhibition.
