Dow Water & Process Solutions Invests in Residential RO Elements

Company notes growth of the global residential water treatment market

Dow Water & Process Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Co., recently announced that as part of the 2008 Edina expansion, its investment in the design, construction and start-up of the next generation production line of DOW FILMTEC residential reverse osmosis (RO) elements in Minneapolis.

The global residential water treatment market is growing, driven in part by the awareness of the importance of clean water and the increased concern about water-related health problems. Also, economic growth in China, India, other Asian countries and Eastern Europe has opened an immense market of people that are willing to invest for their health and wellness.

The new production line is expected to start up by early 2010. “The increased capacity, advanced automation and quality control will allow us to keep providing high-quality DOW FILMTEC residential RO elements, with improved service levels and inventory,” Jensen said.
