Haiti Benefits From Aqua Sciences Atmospheric Water Extraction Machine

Device pulls drinkable water from air
Feb. 12, 2010

Aqua Sciences is providing a unique solution to the severe drinking water shortage in Haiti following its devastating earthquake last month.

The company sent an atmospheric water extraction machine, which literally pulls drinkable water out of the air.

Greenbang reported that this is the first time the machine has been used in a relief effort. The report cited that the device is capable of producing between 350 and 1,200 gal per day. It is powered by electricity or a self-contained diesel generator.

According to Greenbang, the effort was aided by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Defense/U.S. Southern Command and the U.S. State Department/United States Agency for International Development.
