ABS Americas and Cardo USA President Paul Belliveau announced the appointment of Jim Torony as vice president of product management and marketing for its North American operations.
Torony rejoins ABS with nearly 25 years of rotating equipment experience, a significant portion of it with ITT Flygt Corp. (up to its dissolution in 2008), and most recently from ITT Water & Wastewater U.S.A.--where he was the director of marketing & business development. Torony has served in a variety of roles over the years, from gas turbine compressor designer for Textron Lycoming, to systems engineering manager at Flygt--as well as national sales manager for ABS from 1998 to 2001. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Connecticut and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University. He has also served on several industry committees--including the Hydraulic Institute Intake Design Committee.
“Jim brings experience and a proven track record well tailored for our specific business mission, and this is just the next step in strengthening the infrastructure required to support our North American customer base,” Belliveau said. “We are committed to leading the industry with our premium efficiency products and more, and are well underway with implementing significant enhancements to provide the level of support and customer service, which is commensurate with our technological innovations.”
