Stormwater USA announced that it has been chosen to perform the U.S. EPA mandated storm water training and certification for K. Hovnanian Homes.
Last week K. Hovnanian Homes signed a $1-million consent decree with the EPA and US Department of Justice, as result of a Clean Water Act violation related to construction storm water runoff. The consent decree mandates K. Hovnanian to provide ongoing erosion and sediment control training to all storm water managers, contractors and subcontractors on a yearly basis.
Stormwater USA is currently deploying storm water compliance training on three other consent decrees as a result of Clean Water Act violations associated with storm water runoff, one of which includes the Home Depot.
“We are pleased to have been chosen by K. Hovnanian Homes to provide this critical component within a long list of mandated items,” said Laurie Demers, president and managing director of Stormwater USA. “Our online learning platform is uniquely suited to not only deploy this critical training in a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable format, but to also be able to provide complete compliance documentation of users on the system.”
