The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded $291,000 to Boone, Iowa, for funding the final phase of a sanitary sewer replacement project.
“Awarding these water infrastructure funds will help to ensure that our water systems are clean, safe and sustainable for our families, children and grandchildren,” said EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks. “EPA is dedicated to preserving our water resources and meeting the water infrastructure needs of Iowa residents.”
The purpose of this project is to address residential sewer backups that occur during moderate to heavy rainfall by replacing undersized sanitary sewer pipe with larger diameter pipe.
