Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies to deliver new wastewater plant for veterinary company in China

Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (VWS), global leader in water treatment, is a design and build company and a provider of solutions (process water and wastewater) to meet the needs of their pharmaceutical, biotech and health care clients.

Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies will design and commission a biological wastewater treatment plant at 120 cu meters per day to treat all effluents of a new veterinary manufacturing site in Jiangxi province. The main treatment is an AnoxKaldnes moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) biological treatment.

The client, one of the largest veterinary companies in the world, has awarded Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies Shanghai a contract to supply a biological wastewater plant for its new 30,000-sq-meter avian vaccine technology facility.

The AnoxKaldnes MBBR solution is a compact moving bed biofilm reactor that operates continuously using specific plastic media to grow biofilm and provides biochemical oxygen demand removal capability, as well as ammonia and nitrogen removal. This MBBR plant has been designed to remove a high concentrated load of phosphate with objective to meet the stringent local discharge regulation.
