Orica Watercare Employee Appointed AWWA Committee Chair

June 23, 2010

The trustees of the American Water Works Assn. (AWWA) Water Quality & Technology Division voted in April to appoint Beth Pyles of Orica Watercare as the incoming chair of the Coagulation & Filtration Committee. With approximately fifteen members, the committee represents a cross section of the U.S. water industry and seeks to promote the effective and economical application of coagulation and filtration in water treatment.

Pyles has been a member of AWWA for 19 years and joined the Coagulation & Filtration Committee in 2000. In her career in the water industry, Pyles has worked for a commercial laboratory, at Kentucky American Water Co. and for Commonwealth Technology (now Tetra Tech Eng). For the past seven years, she has worked for Orica Watercare as the Eastern business development manager and senior water technologist.

“Orica fully supports its employees using their expertise to aid local communities and the industries we serve. We are proud of the valuable contributions that Beth has made to the water industry through her volunteer work,” said Shane Jones, president of Orica Watercare.

Orica will be launching two new products at ACE10: EcoRegen Renegeration System, which reduces waste and salt discharge by up to 70%; and ENviroPak Nitrate Removal Systems.
