Sixth Edition of Water Quality and Treatment Handbook Now Available

AWWA publication includes five new chapters and four new appendices
Nov. 2, 2010

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced the publication of the sixth edition of Water Quality & Treatment: A Handbook on Drinking Water. Written by more than 30 expert specialists, the sixth edition is a one-volume reference on potable water quality and treatment.

The book covers all aspects of drinking water supply: state-of-the-art technologies, water quality from source to tap, conventional and advanced methods and processes in water treatment, and drinking water standards and regulations, with an emphasis on principles and application.

The new edition is a significant revision of the fifth edition, which was published in 1999. The sixth edition contains five new chapters: natural treatment systems, water reuse, hydraulics, ultraviolet radiation and disinfection byproducts. In addition, all other chapters have been revised and updated or replaced. Four new appendices also provide quick references for atomic numbers and masses, physical and chemical constants, unit conversion factors and the physical properties of water.

Water Quality & Treatment: A Handbook on Drinking Water is available in AWWA's online bookstore at http://www.awwa.org/bookstore.
