Sensus Signs Contract to Install Meters in Egypt

Oct. 15, 2010
Company will install 28,000 of its MeistreamPlus meters

Sensus announced that it signed a major contract in Egypt. The agreement plans the installation of 28,000 MeistreamPlus, an innovative Class C C&I water meter that especially enables intelligent use and conservation of water resources. Sensus already is well represented in North African countries with subsidiaries and local industrial partners, and the contract increases its presence in that market.

“This contract with Egypt confirms our mission to provide utilities around the world with solutions that enable intelligent use and conservation of resources,” said José Hernandez, executive vice president of global water and heat at Sensus.

Launched in 2008 in Europe, the MeiStreamPlus Class C C&I water meter has a wide flow range and can be used for bulk meter applications. It is the world’s first Woltman meter in metrological class C and has been optimized for applications with very low flow rates. MeiStreamPlus’ advanced bearing and hydraulics design means it can replace three former meter technologies, merging the high overload capabilities of Woltman horizontal and vertical meters with the low flow performance of single jet Class C meters.
