Kimberly Blomker was named a vice president at Leggette, Brashears & Graham Inc. (LBG), a professional groundwater and environmental engineering services firm.Blomker has been with LBG since 1994. A certified hazardous materials manager, she has extensive experience in the completion of environmental liability assessments, and specializes in U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-based human health risk assessments including vapor intrusion, implementation of risk-based corrective actions and the use of risk management in closing recalcitrant sites. The majority of her work involves soil and groundwater remediation projects at industrial manufacturing facilities, bulk petroleum storage and distribution facilities, landfills and commercial/redevelopment properties. Based in LBG’s St. Paul, Minn., office, Blomker also manages the operations of the firm’s Houston environmental office, which serves the oil and gas industry.
Blomker is a member of the National Groundwater Assn., the Assn. of Engineering Geologists and the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals. She earned a degree in geological engineering from Michigan Technological University and sits on the professional advisory board for the university’s department of geology, geophysics and geological engineering.
