Water Expo China + Water & Membrane China 2011 is doubling in size to accommodate exhibitor demand. Held Oct. 13 to 15 October at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, it will now span 22,000 sq meters.

The show offers a comprehensive exhibition for professionals involved with China’s water industry in areas that include water engineering, municipal water, industrial wastewater treatment and water purification. It is the only event directly connected to government policy and is sponsored by China’s Ministry of Water Resources and approved by the Ministry of Commerce. It is co-organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society (CHES) and the Membrane Industry Assn. of China (MIAC).

In addition, Water Expo China + Water & Membrane China is supported by the People's Republic of China’s Ministry of Land and Resources, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environmental Protection, State Oceanic Administration, Department of High-Tech Industry of National Development and Reform Commission and the Department of Raw Materials of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

This year’s show will feature overseas pavilions from Germany, Malaysia and Europe, and a local pavilion from Zhejiang Province in China. The German pavilion is supported by German Industry & Commerce and the 90-sq-meter Malaysian pavilion is organized by the Embassy of Malaysia’s Trade Section (MATRADE). Seven companies will exhibit in the 114-sq-meter European pavilion.

Exhibitors from the European, German and Malaysian pavilions will participate in a special business matchmaking forum. In addition, a local business matchmaking forum will be held with selected participants.

Running concurrently with the 2011 edition of Water Expo China + Water & Membrane China will be the China (International) Water Business Summit, which hopes to attract more than 300 attendees. In addition, there will be a fringe program covering the topics of sustainable development of water resources, desalination, membrane technology, sludge treatment and disposal and new technology presentations.
