Company provides sulfur dioxide and related derivatives

Calabrian Corporation, the largest North American prime producer of liquid sulfur dioxide and sulfur derivatives, is pleased to announce that Vincent Opalewski has joined the company as vice president and general manager of sales, marketing and business development. In this newly created leadership position, Opalewski will be responsible for building the commercial organization, expanding Calabrian's presence in current and new markets and executing the company's strategic growth initiatives.

Opalewski joins Calabrian with more than 20 years of experience in the chemical industry, most recently as president of General Chemical Corp., a provider of water treatment chemicals, sulphuric acid and other chemicals.

"Vince's extensive experience, deep industry knowledge and proven track record of driving growth will enable us to capitalize on our significant market opportunities while maintaining the high levels of customer service for which we are known," said Charles Cogliandro, Calabrian's chief executive officer. "The addition of Vince to our senior leadership team reflects our commitment, with the support of SK Capital Partners, to broaden and strengthen our organization, which will enable our next major phase of growth."

"I'm excited to join Calabrian and to help it achieve its aggressive growth plans," Opalewski said. "The company is well positioned for continued expansion in its existing markets, and I believe the company's proprietary SO2CLEAN technology can be exploited in new geographies as well as additional applications, such as mining and refining."
