NSF Intl.’s Global Water Division Promotes Employees
NSF Intl. has promoted two experts in its water division.
Rick Andrew shifts his role to focus on new business development opportunities for all of NSF’s water programs.
Dave Purkiss will direct NSF’s Municipal Water and Drinking Water Treatment programs with management support from two operations managers: Kelli Fleischmann and Jennifer Sharp.
NSF Intl.'s water programs require extensive product testing and unannounced audits of production facilities to verify that water treatment products meet the design, material and performance requirements from source to tap.
As former general manager of the NSF Drinking Water Treatment Systems Certification Program, Andrew will transition into a new role as director of global business development for water systems, leveraging his nearly 14 years of experience at NSF managing certification for point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) manufacturers. He will oversee business development for all of NSF’s water product certification programs while continuing to support the POU and POE community by participating in trade association activities and other events. This includes continuing to work with the NSF Drinking Water Treatment Joint Committee, which helps develop American national drinking water standards. Andrew earned a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry both from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
Purkiss has managed NSF’s water treatment and distribution programs and worked at NSF for the past 25 years, including four years with WRc-NSF in the UK, which provides testing for water fittings and materials. Purkiss will expand his current role to include drinking water treatment units, as well as drinking water treatment chemicals, system components, and recreational water products. Purkiss earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Michigan State University.
Jennifer Sharp and Kelli Fleischmann, who each have ten years of experience working in NSF’s Water Division, have been promoted to operations managers. Both will support clients in the drinking water treatment unit industry by providing service solutions and access to new markets.
Blake Stark, currently business unit manager for NSF/ANSI Standard 60: Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals – Health Effects, will manage NSF Intl.’s Recreational Water Program, which tests and certifies pool and spa products used in commercial and residential water facilities.
