Bio-Microbics Acquires SeptiTech

Bio-Microbics expands its Fixed Integrated Treatment Technologies with SeptiTech’s biological trickling filter systems
July 11, 2013

Bio-Microbics Inc., a global manufacturer of decentralized wastewater, water and storm water treatment technologies, has acquired SeptiTech LLC.

Bio-Microbics certified treatment systems focus on the residential and commercial decentralized wastewater industry. With the addition of the SeptiTech product line, Bio-Microbics can further offer more solutions for onsite commercial wastewater and residential septic system applications.

A Maine-based company, SeptiTech, LLC was founded in 1996. The company manufactures a PLC-controlled, onsite wastewater treatment system for residential and commercial applications. Designed to fit into locally made tanks the biological trickling filter system has been certified to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Technology Verification, NSF/ANSI Standard 40, class 1 and NSF/ANSI Standard 245 for Nitrogen Reduction. Standard treatment achieves 98% biochemical oxygen demand and total suspended solids removal and for nitrogen reduction systems, SeptiTech typically treats domestic wastewater to levels of total nitrogen to 19 mg/L or below.

SeptiTech operates in about 20 states and currently has more than 1,600 systems in operation including approximately 300 commercial systems treating flows of more than 1,000 gal per day. Commercial systems are routinely specified for schools, housing developments, shopping centers, restaurants and nursing homes.
