Eaton Names Vice President, General Manager of Filtration Division

Mary Jo Surges succeeds Rick Jacobs who has been named president, hydraulics business in Europe, the Middle East & Africa

Power management company Eaton has named Mary Jo Surges vice president and general manager of the filtration business. In this role, Surges will report to Bill VanArsdale, president of the hydraulics group. She succeeds Rick Jacobs who has been named president, hydraulics business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Successfully executing the growth strategy for our filtration business is critical,” VanArsdale said. “Mary Jo has solid strategy and business development experience, and we look forward to her joining our Filtration team to bring that business to the next level.”

Surges has been at Eaton for 11 years, most recently as the vice president of business development for the industrial sector. Prior to working at Eaton, she was general manager of Nichols Portland Div. for Parker Hannifin Corp., vice president and general manager of the water systems division for Pentair Corp. and held marketing and business development positions with Actuant Corp.

Surges will be located at the filtration business offices in Tinton Falls, N.J. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Marquette University in Wisconsin and master’s degrees in operations management and finance management from the University of Wisconsin.
