THK Thickening Centrifuge to Be Featured at WEFTEC 2014

Sept. 18, 2014

The THK Thickening System, a 2013 WEF Innovative Technology Award winner from Centrisys, will be back at WEFTEC 2014 with a focus on the system’s ability to improve the cake concentration to achieve optimal results for the digester operation. WEFTEC, the world’s largest annual water quality conference and exhibition, is expected to host thousands of global water quality experts and exhibiting companies at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center, Sept. 28 to Oct. 1.

The THK Thickening System offers greater process flexibility and produces the most controlled levels of cake solids as needed for each individual installation without requiring expensive polymers. As a result, wastewater treatment facilities can save about $140,000 annually per each dry ton of solids—with a return on investment of 2.5 years due to polymer savings alone.

These advantages continue to gain recognition around the industry, including THK’s recent selection by the Water Environment Research Foundation’s exclusive LIFT program (Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology). In the LIFT program, a group of the best scientific minds and industry specialists come together to accelerate the adaptation of innovative technologies in the industry, with the goal of putting innovation into practice.

Centrisys has been putting the THK into practice with a mobile test trailer that has been traveling the country and successfully demonstrating the operational improvements municipal utilities can realize in their sludge thickening process. Visit Centrisys at WEFTEC booth 3151 to learn more about the results from the trailer.

“We’re excited to have the THK selected as part of the LIFT series and are even happier to see major municipalities around the country including Austin, Texas, Miami, Green Bay, Wis., San Francisco and San Antonio experiencing the technology for themselves through our state-of-the-art THK test trailer,” said Centrisys CEO Michael Kopper. “Our team is proud of this design and eager to keep solving industry challenges, innovating and helping customers improve their operations.”

In addition to a THK on display in the Centrisys booth, visitors can interact with our custom mobile dewatering trailer systems app to explore the ins and outs of what makes the system so effective and also highlights the many U.S. suppliers who partner with Centrisys to make this dewatering system one of the most efficient in the industry.
