ARCADIS to Match Donations to Water For People

June 3, 2015
The firm will match all monetary donations up to $25,000 through June 12

Water For People, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to improved water and sanitation systems and services in developing countries, has met its Spring Campaign fundraising goal of $300,000 with two weeks to spare. ARCADIS, a Water For People partner and a global natural and built asset design and consultancy firm, decided to up the ante and accelerate donor impact.

From now until June 12, ARCADIS will match all monetary donations up to $25,000. This investment will push Water For People’s progress toward reaching 4 million people with access to safe water and sanitation in nine countries.

“Water For People and ARCADIS both exist to improve quality of life—including securing the fundamental human right of continuous access to safer water and sanitation for everyone.” said Michael MacPhee, president at ARCADIS, North America. “The types of work we do may differ, but our desire for lasting impact is the same. Giving to Water For People moves the world forward, which feeds our passion and our purpose.”

This is just one way ARCADIS has been supporting Water For People. For more than 10 years, the design and consultancy firm and its employees have donated thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund initiatives across Water For People's nine country programs.

“We are grateful for partners like ARCADIS who help us double our impact and bring us that much closer to reaching Everyone Forever,” says Sue Dorsey, CFO at Water For People. “Through this partnership we’ve been able to explore what it means to invest in sustainable solutions and the moments that matter.”

Everyone Forever strives to close the gaps that leave communities vulnerable to health issues by bringing together local entrepreneurs, civil society and governments to establish solutions that allow people to build and maintain their own reliable safe water and sanitation systems, independent of outside aid, ensuring long-term sustainability.

The Spring Campaign will end June 15.
