Rowland Heights, Calif.’s Rowland Water District (RWD) will join residents and businesses in the community for the 43rd annual Buckboard Days Parade. On Saturday, Oct. 17 beginning at 9 a.m., youth groups, bands and floats will roll down the street as “Good Neighbors, Good Friends.” This will be the district’s 24th year participating in the parade.
“This year’s theme is especially important to the district,” said Szu Pei Lu-Yang, RWD board president. “We work hard all year to unite the community through water conservation efforts and this event really shows neighbors coming together as good friends to celebrate their community with those efforts in common.” The celebration kicks off with a pancake breakfast in the morning and a festival following the parade at Rowland Heights Park.
“We hope all of our customers come out to see the parade and participate in the festival. We enjoy serving the community and this annual event is our chance to meet everyone that we provide clean, quality water for on a daily basis,” said Tom Coleman, RWD general manager.
