Huber Technology intern Kyra Z. Salamon named winner at Chairman's Award Reception & Dinner
Every year, W&WD supports future water and wastewater professionals through the WWEMA/W&WD Scholarship by awarding $1,000 to a student seeking a career in a water- or wastewater-related field. W&WD Managing Editor Elisabeth Lisican announced this year's winner, Kyra Z. Salamon, on Friday, Nov. 6, at the WWEMA Chairman's Award Reception & Dinner in Dallas, Texas. Salamon is studying mechanical engineering and German at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and she works as a mechanical intern at Huber Technology, a WWEMA member company. She hopes to pursue a career within the water sector by focusing on the various environmental control it affects. She dreams of working for Huber Technology's headquarters in Germany—or getting into water and wastewater research. Salamon is a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority and German Club, and she had the opportunity to travel abroad last summer at the University Kassel in Germany. Stay tuned for a call for applications for the 2016 Scholarship Award.
