Dewberry Promotes Peter Garvey

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, announced the promotion of Peter Garvey, P.E., to associate vice president and business unit manager in the firm’s Boston office. In his new position, Garvey will be responsible for management of the office's daily operations and serving a diverse client base in the areas of transportation, water and wastewater and telecommunications engineering.

With more than 25 years of experience in water resources in the U.S. and Europe, his technical experience focuses on the assessment and upgrade of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. As an associate vice president in the firm, Garvey has directed all aspects of Dewberry’s Boston office water/wastewater practice, from business development through project delivery.

Garvey earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and an environmental engineering degree from Trinity College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. He is a professional engineer in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, and is licensed by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, the American Public Works Assn., the American Water Works Assn., the Water Environment Federation, and the New England Water Assn., where he serves as the Collection Systems Committee’s vice-chair.
