Bio Huma Netics Inc. (BHN) hosted its 2016 World Conference Oct. 25 to 28 in the cities of Mesa and Gilbert, Ariz. This edition of the biannual conference had more than 150 attendees from 20 countries representing distributors, customers, and staff from BHN’s product lines of Huma Gro, Huma Gro Turf and Probiotic Solutions.

This year’s conference featured more than 30 presentations, including from Mark Killian, director of the Arizona Department of Agriculture and member of BHN’s Board of Directors, and Mir Syedbagher, professor emeritus for the University of Idaho.

BHN offered presentations on screen in English and Spanish, as well as live translations of the presentations in seven languages that attendees could select and listen to from a smart phone app. Many of the presentations were first-hand accounts of successful BHN product use by agriculture, turf and wastewater treatment professionals from around the world.

Another feature of the four-day event was the dedication of BHN’s new Alpha Synectics Laboratory facility. This major expansion of BHN’s laboratory capabilities enables BHN to move completely in-house in terms of product development and improvement, quality control and verification, carbon extraction and characterization, and bioassay and microbial studies. The Alpha Synectics Laboratory staff includes two formulation chemists, an analytical chemist, a soil chemist and a phycologist.

“This world-class laboratory will better enable us to maintain the consistent high quality of our products,” said BHN Senior Director of Research and Development Rita Abi-Ghanem.

The conference also served as the official release of the Huma Gro smart phone app for Android. The free Huma Gro app, available at Google Play, provides a foliar application calculator, a product document library, a product-mixing guide, and the ability to save foliar application data by field. The app can also be used to contact Huma Gro sales representatives. The iOS version will be available in 2017.

During the Conference, attendees had the opportunity to participate in some uniquely Arizona activities, including attending a Phoenix Suns basketball game, golfing at the Apache Creek Golf Course, and going on a desert Hummer and UTV tour.
