System adds RO capability to Pall's mobile water treatment solutions

Desalitech, a reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment company, has announced the sale of a one million gpd ReFlex reverse osmosis system to Pall Corp. The Desalitech system adds reverse osmosis capability to Pall’s Aria Fast mobile water treatment solutions. The sale is the first major project awarded under the recently announced partnership between Desalitech and Pall.

Pall maintains a fleet of mobile membrane systems for multiple water treatment applications including municipal supply, seawater reverse osmosis pretreatment, cooling tower blowdown, water recycling and reuse, mining water and industrial process water. Pall’s Aria Fast mobile systems combine reliable treatment with intelligent controls and automation. Single units can produce up to 1,400 gpm of quality filtrate.

Desalitech’s ReFlex reverse osmosis systems are used around the world in applications including food manufacturing, power generation, pulp and paper production, consumer products manufacturing, wastewater recycling and ultrapure water production. ReFlex reverse osmosis systems operate at guaranteed maximum recovery rates, reducing wastewater by 50% to 75% and energy consumption by up to 35%, resulting in significant operating cost savings.

“Many of our customers require the water purity that only reverse osmosis can provide,” said Lisa Sorgini Marchewka, vice president of global strategic marketing for Pall Corp.’s water group. “Desalitech’s high-efficiency reverse osmosis systems are a great addition to our mobile fleet.”

Desalitech worked with Pall to design a custom trailer-based ReFlex reverse osmosis system to be compatible with Pall’s Aria products. The Desalitech unit can produce up to 700 gpm of reverse osmosis permeate at water recovery rates of 70% to 98% from feed waters with salinities of up to 10,000 ppm TDS. Integrated mobile membrane systems will be used for:

  • Short or long-term water services for planned maintenance
  • Seasonal peak demand or supplement current supplies
  • Emergency response
  • Permanent solutions

“Desalitech strives to make our customers’ lives easier while saving them considerable amounts of water and money,” said Nadav Efraty, CEO of Desalitech. “Pall Corp.’s position as a global leader in water treatment makes them an invaluable partner in our efforts to bring our next generation RO products to new customers and projects around the world.”
