Ovivo, in partnership with the University of Akron, has developed BioAlgaNyx, a bioengineered algae-based technology for wastewater and sludge management. By utilizing phagotrophic algae instead of phototrophic algae, the system eliminates the need for expensive photobioreactors typical of most algae cultivation systems.
